Description

The focus of this course is a comprehensive learning to the main analytical statistical components of SPSS. This is an application-oriented course and the approach is practical. You'll take a look at Research Questions and appropriate statistical technique/test to use and discuss situations in which you would use each technique, the assumptions made by each method, how to set up the analysis using SPSS as well as how to interpret the results. This includes a broad range of tests for analyzing, exploring and summarizing data, as well as investigating and testing underlying relationships. You will gain an understanding of when and why to use these various techniques as well as how to apply them with confidence, and interpret their output, and graphically representing data the results using SPSS. Ultimate benefits of this course is to be used in research reporting.

Acquired Skills

1- Design a questionnaire, Code the variables, enter data into SPSS.

2- Be able to process data, handle missing values, create new variables, recode data variables.

3- Use descriptive statistics (for nominal and scale data) to summarize data into tables and charts, explain results.

4- Use inferential statistics (both parametric and nonparametric tests) to answer the research questions, apply statistical methods, explain the results, set recommendations for decision makers.

5- Use charts for data visualizations, use control charts for quality control.

Target Group
