Lectures, practical workshops, live surgeries, case discussions, and assessments. Candidates must successfully pass an entrance examination prior to enrollment in the course. At the end of each module, participants are required to complete a module-based examination to assess their theoretical and practical competence.


Content:

Principles of Oral Implantology

  • History & terminology & implant components.
  • Implant biomaterials and biology of osseointegration.
  • Bone biology & physiology.
  • Types of implants & implant surfaces.
  • Clinical examination protocols and patient selection.
  • Loading protocols (immediate, early, delayed)
  • Radiology in oral implantology.
  • Virtual implant planning (Blue-sky bio), and introduction to surgical guild fabrication.
  • Implant biomechanics and treatment modalities.
  • Treatment planning for partially and complete edematous cases.


Fundamentals of Basic Implant Surgeries

  • Principles of flap design, suturing materials and techniques.
  • Osteotomy preparation and classic implant installation.
  • Minimally invasive surgery. (Immediate implant placement and Flapless surgery)
  • Immediate loading protocols.
  • Ridge preservation & soft tissue management.
  • Prevention and management of surgical complications.


Fundamentals of Basic Implant prosthetics

  • Types of implant prostheses: fixed, removable, overdentures.
  • Abutment selection and types of connection.
  • Cement retained restorations.
  • Screw retained restorations.
  • Impression techniques.


Practical Component Section

  • Hands-on implant models for demonstration of flap design and suturing techniques.
  • Demonstration of implant instrumentation.
  • Hands-on implant models for understanding and mastering drilling and osteotomy preparation and placement angles and primary stability engagement.
  • Live patient surgeries under supervision (2 implants installation for every single candidate).

Acquired Skills

  • Describe the basic concepts of implantology.
  • Explain the materials used in implant dentistry.
  • Evaluate patient suitability for implant therapy.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify implant components and systems clinically.
  • Apply principles of surgical asepsis and flap design in practice.
  • Analyze radiographic data to plan basic implant placement. 

Target Group

This course is intended for graduate dentists who hold a valid license to practice dentistry issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, and who are interested in developing their theoretical knowledge and clinical skills in the field of dental implantology
