Description

This micro-credential provides learners with applied and practice-oriented competences in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into mobile applications. Designed at EQF Level 5, it bridges foundational mobile development skills with emerging AI technologies to enable the creation of intelligent, user-centered mobile solutions.

Knowledge

The learner will be able to:

  1. Explain core Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts relevant to mobile applications, including machine learning (ML), neural networks, natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and generative AI.
  2. Describe AI integration frameworks and tools used in mobile app development (e.g., ML kits, AI APIs, cloud AI services).
  3. Explain mobile data processing principles, including on-device vs cloud-based AI processing.
  4. Describe model deployment concepts, including inference, model optimization, and performance constraints in mobile environments.
  5. Identify ethical, legal, privacy, and data protection requirements in AI-powered mobile applications (e.g., GDPR compliance, responsible AI use).

Acquired Skills

Integrate AI APIs or SDKs into Android iOS or cross-platform mobile applications. Implement AI-powered features such as chatbots recommendation systems speech recognition or image classification in mobile apps. Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency and UI/UX design. Manage API calls data exchange and model interaction within a mobile development framework. Test debug and optimize AI-enabled mobile app performance. Apply prompt engineering techniques for generative AI features within mobile applications.

Competence

The learner will be able to:

  1. Design and develop a functional AI-enhanced mobile application aligned with defined user requirements.
  2. Work autonomously in integrating and managing third-party AI services in mobile environments.
  3. Evaluate and select appropriate AI tools based on technical and project constraints.
  4. Ensure secure and ethical implementation of AI features in compliance with data protection standards.
  5. Collaborate effectively in small development teams to deliver AI-powered mobile solutions.
